NewsFrom The Associated Press Stephen Colbert, a faux conservative who often honors himself on his Comedy Central show, was lauded by the U.S. Comedy Art’s Festival as their “Person of the Year.” “What an honor. An honor to receive and an honor for you to give to me,” Colbert said Saturday, in Aspen, Colo. Often appearing to be a combination of Bill O’Reilly and Archie Bunker, Colbert emphasized that his television character is not him. “He’s not malicious, he’s ill-informed, you know. It’s just a product of his own education. And he thinks he’s saying and doing the right thing, he’s not actually trying to hurt anybody,” said Colbert. Elizabeth Hurley, 41, married an Indian businessman in a private civil ceremony at a 15-century castle in Winchcombe, England. Gloucestershire County Council confirmed that Hurley and Arun Nayar, 42, married at Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe, 125 miles west of London. The pair held a blessing and party at the castle Saturday, with guests including Elton John, Kate Moss and Hurley’s ex, Hugh Grant. Oscar winners Forest Whitaker and Jennifer Hudson kept their winning streaks alive, while “Grey’s Anatomy” star Isaiah Washington claimed a best actor prize at the 38th annual NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles. Vanessa Williams got the nod for best supporting actress in a comedy for “Ugly Betty,” which also won for best television comedy series.
