NewsI-19 frontage road project nears completion The contractor at the west frontage road project south of Continental Road expects to remove the stripes there tomorrow and replace them with permanent ones Friday. “This should be the last week of construction” on the project, said Chet Davis, first vice president for Green Valley Community Coordinating Council. His statement: “Your ‘left turn’ and ‘right turn’ lanes will be different. “Again, be watching for flaggers and Sheriff’s deputies directing you in new directions.” Davis also suggested, “Slow down and wave and smile at the workers from Mountain Power, Southern Arizona Paving and Pima County. They’ve made our travel a little more comfortable.” Originally the east frontage road entrance was very near to the southbound on-ramp. The frontage road can now be reached from a traffic light just south of Continental Shopping Plaza.
