Saturday is Marine Rose Day

The Marine Rose Day will be held Saturday, Feb. 10, Post Commander Joseph Strifler said.

Marines from the Green Valley detachment #1126 will conduct their annual fundraising drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the following locations: Wal-Mart, both Safeway locations, Bashas’, all Walgreens locations and the Arizona Family Restaurant.

Each year, the Green Valley Marine Corps League hands out the colorful roses to the public.

Last year, as a result of Green Valley citizens, the Marine Corps League was able to give a total of $4,050 to the following organizations: Arizona Paralyzed Vets, Wounded Warriors, Semper Fi fund, Fisker House, Marine Moms of Tucson, law enforcement funds, Detachment 007 of Tucson, and the Castle Rock Code Talkers fund.
