John F. Lohmann,

a resident of the La Posada Retirement Community, passed away on Aug. 30, 2005.

He was born in Scranton, Pa. on Oct. 2, 1920 to Robert and Helen Lohmann. John was employed by Conrail in the accounting department and retired after 39 years. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer in Europe and Africa where he took part in five campaigns.

John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane (nee Hewitt); daughters Carol (Terri Burchett) of Tucson and Patricia (James Herd) of Iowa City, Iowa; a brother Robert (Eleanor); and nephew William, both of Scranton, Pa.

A memorial service will be held at Valley Presbyterian Church in Green Valley on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Dunmore, Pa. at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the La Posada Foundation, Green Valley.
