Chamber Music Society marking 25 years with free concert, reception

Published: Friday, April 8, 2005 7:37 AM MST

GREEN VALLEY--Ann-Marie Schaffer and friends will celebrate "25 Years of Chamber Music" with a free concert Sunday, April 10, at 2 p.m. at St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 600 S. La Canada Drive.

"We came to Green Valley 25 years ago and little did we know how much chamber music we would find here," Schaffer said.

"So what better way to celebrate 25 years than a party with music and food. I've asked nine of my friends who I have played with over the years to dust off some of the pieces we have performed in the past."

Schaffer, on piano, will be joined by Nancy Karsh (flute), Bob Sladky (clarinet), La Verne Gallob (piano), Pat McCauley and Lucy Hernried (violins), Marion Wolfe (viola), and Helene Benedikte, Tom Hanselmann, and Serene Rein (all cellos).

The group will join forces in duos, trios, the Schubert "Trout" Quintet, and Prokofieff's "Overture on Hebrew Themes," (sextet).

A reception will follow the concert. For information, call Schaffer at 625-1609.
