Charles Smith Hutchinson

Nov.14, 1907 -- April 1, 2005.

Chuck and his wife, Cecil, moved to Green Valley in 1979, following his 43 year career as a book publisher in Minneapolis. Here, Chuck became active in Kiwanis and First Church of Christ, Scientist. After his wife's passing in 1996, he moved to an apartment in Oro Valley, returning to Green Valley in 2003.

He is survived by step-brother Harry (Lois) Heim of Minneapolis, Minn.; two children, Charles Hutchinson, Jr. (Betsy) of Tucson and Geraldine (Don) Bars of Green Valley; four nieces; five grandchildren, Amy Rinehart of Lafayette, Colo., Todd Hutchinson of New York City, Sara Gray of San Carlos, Calif., John Wade of Bellingham, Wash., Julia Link of New York City; and six great-grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no public service. Memorials may be made in Chuck's name to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, 2021 N. Kinney Rd., Tucson, AZ 85743.
