Continental hires new superintendent
GREEN VALLEY--Kenneth R. Brown, Ed.D., has been hired as Continental School District's new superintendent. Brown will be replacing Jane Pryne, who departs in June at the end of the school year after working more than 25 years at Continental School.

GVR board OKs new funding plan for Canoa Center
GREEN VALLEY--A plan to fund the first phase of the Canoa Ranch Recreation Center passed the Green Valley Recreation board of directors this week, and construction of the 12,900-square-foot facility is expected to commence in May of this year.

SAHUARITA--Within the next two years, the Sahuarita Unified School District will see the construction of a new middle school and an additional wing for the local high school, thanks to a nearly $9 million recent allocation by the Arizona School Facilities Board.
